De Rust Koktyls-kalender

WITH Maryna Cotton and Sarel van Staden FACILITATOR Coenie de Villiers

De Rust Koktyls is a very special calendar, with a special story. It is a collection of unusual portraits of De Rust residents and numerous stories from this Klein Karoo town, which not only speaks to how special the people of De Rust are, but also serves as testimony to the resilience of the South African countryside. Small towns in South Africa are struggling and De Rust is no exception. A group of brave men from De Rust ignored all inhibitions and prejudices and endured the discomfort of standing in front of the camera au naturel. And don’t judge too quickly, everything was done with enough taste and respect to more or less protect the men’s dignity. The income generated by this calendar is for the benefit of the De Rust fund, from which a variety of community projects are financed. These projects bring hope for the communities of De Rust and Blomnek.

The calendar is from July 2024 to June 2025 and includes 13 original photos that will definitely entertain and hopefully make you blush a little too. The real cocktails are the 12 favourite cocktails from De Rust’s watering holes, hotel and homes, for you to share and enjoy with your own people.
