Amanda Strydom delivers a tour de force with the works of her mentor, Hennie Aucamp, the father of Afrikaans cabaret. Aucamp died on 20 March 2014 and this show is Strydom’s tribute to her master ten years after his death. Aucamp’s lyrics were set to music by Strydom and Lize Beekman, and the album of the same name was nominated for a Sama prize for best soundtrack in a musical in 1998. Strydom also performs several monologues and songs from Aucamp’s pen – the result: genuine literary cabaret.
