Hoekom stotter ons pa’s so?

WITH Anelia Heese (uit Berlyn) FACILITATOR Bun Booyens

It's a first: an Afrikaans book about military service written by a woman, and she's in her thirties. At the back of Anelia Heese's book, it is summarised as follows: She asks uncomfortable questions to help herself and other - especially younger - South Africans to make sense of military service and its aftermath. Like who the real enemy was, and what it means to serve your country...” She explains in an interview that she realised there must still be so much unprocessed pain, because in the books she read, the focus was only on recces' heroic deeds. Anelia Heese talks to us from Berlin.
