WITH Theo Paul Vorster

I really like the three-dimensional quality of carving in the lino block and creating unique works of art with linework, vibrant colours and a thematic approach. My work always displays magical colour and energy and draws the viewer into a world filled with playful drama.

This exhibition is a collection of mediums that include lino blocks, lino prints, monotypes, archival prints, and sculpture. The work is about a world based on the rhyme “If you go down to the woods today, you’ll be in for a big surprise”. It is a playful reference to the forest and things that happen there that we are unaware of. The depiction of my work for this exhibition is a metaphor for what we experience every day in our own environment, presented in a tongue-in-cheek style. It refers to how we dress up everyday things to make it more manageable.
